The Eagles have announced six new dates for their “Hotel California” tour in 2023. The run began in mid-February and has now been extended until early April. Hotel California will be performed from beginning to end at each event, supported by an orchestra and choir, as well as an additional set of the band’s greatest songs. The new shows will go on sale to the general public on January 13 at 10 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster.
From 2017 through 2021, the band performed on stage with a new lineup that included Glenn Frey’s son, Deacon Frey, and Vince Gill, in addition to Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit. On February 17, 2022, two days before the band’s extensive U.S. tour began, the band revealed that Frey would not be performing due to an unidentified ailment. Six weeks later, he announced his departure from the band “to forge his own path.”
However, on June 17, at the start of the band’s brief tour of Europe and the United Kingdom, Deacon Frey joined them on stage to sing three songs. He did it again on subsequent dates. He did appear in the September shows despite not being featured in the announcements for a fall 2022 Canadian tour.
